Just a reminder, the inaugural Black Hills Film Festival is only a couple weeks away! I cannot believe how fast time has gone in preparation for the festival. The festival kicks of Friday, May 14, and runs through Sunday, May 16, 2010.
Our senior photographer and I were commenting on how cool it will be that the festival is honoring North by Northwest’s 50th anniversary this year. There will be two showings of the film at Mount Rushmore 10:00 a.m. (MDT) and 2:00 p.m. (MDT). Many of the extras from the film still live in the Black Hills. They are encouraging anyone that was a part of the film to attend to share memories and memorabilia. How exciting! This is a great one for anyone’s bucket list:
Saw North by Northwest at Mount Rushmore with extras from the film.
Sounds like a keeper to me. Something unique about the Black Hills Film Festival is that it will be held at three locations in the Black Hills including Hill City, Mount Rushmore, and Crazy Horse Memorials.
Forty independent films, some of which are world premieres, will be viewed at the festival. Included is an award winning documentary and several films that were made in South Dakota. Film from filmmakers from across the world are included in the festival. Don’t miss out on the to view some great films right here in South Dakota.
