Thousands of people have come together to share ideas, presentations, and conversations about one passion: books. The South Dakota Book Festival has built an amazing annual event in South Dakota.
The festival takes place in Sioux Falls, South Dakota (it alternates locations each year with Deadwood, S.D.). This year the festival is September 24-26. Festival goers will enjoy more than 50 authors including Dave Eggers, Pete Dexter, Marilyn Johnson, Valyzhyna Mort, Patrick Hicks and Ann Bausum.
While registration is free it is also required. Please take some time to let the organizers know that you are coming. You will receive an attendee pass via email – remember to bring it along so that you can get your weekend wristband. There are a few (only 5!) exceptions to the free festival. There are a few events that feature food and/or music…these few events require a ticket to be purchased, however, 5 out of more than 50 is still an insanely small number. So what are you waiting for, go register! You can also register when you get to the event, but who knows how long the line will be…be prepared, register online.
